How to buy NFT on Solana [GUIDE]

From CryptoPunks to Solenoids, NFTs have been the biggest crypto story of 2021. And even though NFT markets aren’t exactly Amazon when it comes to ease of use, buying your first digital collectible isn’t hard — it just requires a little guidance.

(Solana is a blockchain that make, purchasing, showcasing, and discovering NFTs easier than ever, and cheaper than ever thanks to the lower fees. Buying 1 NFT cost less than 0.50$ on the Solana Blockchain);

Here’s how buying an NFT on Solana blockchain works:

  • You’ll need a Solana crypto wallet and some SOL to get started. The most common wallet is “Phantom”. Once you’ve created your wallet you’ll need to fill it with some SOL. You can easily purchase SOL from exchanges like Coinbase, Binance, Crypto.Com ecc… and send it to your Solana Wallet Adress. (If you don’t have one read: Create Solana Wallet)
  • There are lots of NFT markets on Solana, from MagicEden, Solsea, SolanArt ecc.. (Opensea will also host Solana Blockchain soon and this will rocket up any existent collection). For this tutorial we’ll focus on MagicEden — which is the biggest of them all, and works a lot like a decentralized eBay. To connect your wallet to MagicEden, go to theyr website and click on the icon in the top right, and connect your wallet to get started.
  • Get browsing! Prices range from essentially free to hundreds of thousands of dollars or more for a rare item. Some items are sold via auction, while others can be snagged immediately via a “buy now” button.
  • Important: Even if the NFT is free or cheap, you’ll still have to pay fees to make the transaction happen, so if you will buy a free NFT you will pay fees anyway! (fortunately on Solana this isn’t a big sin since fees are very low). Gas prices rise and fall depending on how busy the network is but in our experience its always under 1$, On the ETH blockchain it’s always 100$+ for a single transaction ! Here you can understand the immense potential of Solana blockchain.
  • Choose an NFT you like and make sure you have extra SOL to cover fees. Once you buy it, you can access the NFT via your crypto wallet until you decide to sell it.
